Time to Unplug

TODAY LET'S TAKE A MOMENT TO BREATHE

Happy National Unplugging Day! Today we’re giving you the perfect reason to take a moment to yourself and relax. Put away your work, kick up your feet, set the perfect mood because our team here at Veiled Collection wants to tell you our favorite way to unplug.

What Does Unplugging Mean?

Does unplugging mean that you have to necessarily put away all of your electronics and turn off the tv? No, not exactly. Everyone is different so unplugging could mean something to one person and mean something else to another. So your sister could unplug by binge watching a tv series in one night but refusing to look at work given by her 9-5 job. For you, it could be something as simple as turning off your phone and cuddling up in bed with your cat. Whatever way you unplug is up to you and we’re encouraging our team to find some time to do the same. See unplugging doesn’t have to be an all-day thing, but spare an hour or two of you’re day to make yourself happy.

What’s the Point?

Have you ever felt uninspired or unmotivated about something you do everyday? Working, cleaning, taking care of your kids, etc.? It could be something you absolutely love and adore, but because you do every single day it sometimes feels like it’s dragging or you want to get away. Well, that’s exactly the point. The whole point of unplugging is taking yourself out of the environment that you’re in on a daily basis. So if you work, take an hour to two during your day to make sure you’re not working. If you’re taking care of your kids, ask for them to be babysit by a family member for a little bit of time. In the fast paced environment we live in today, it’s so easy for someone to make the excuse that they don’t have the time to give to themselves. Well, we’re here today to tell you that you do have that time and that time is now. Put away whatever you’re doing (actually finish this blog first) and go do something different for 30 minutes at least and come back. The point is a mental break.

What Do We Suggest?

Is It Really Unplugging If You Don’t Spoil Yourself…?

Shop! Shop! Shop (at Veiled Collection)! Buy yourself something DIFFERENT and enjoy a cart full of goodies.

Take a Hike

Or a walk. Get up and exercise your body. If you’re sitting, stand and if you’re standing, walk. Keep it moving!

Turn Off Your Devices

Silence all your electronic devices and get a blue screen break, trust us you need it.

Read a Book

Or our blog post, whichever suits your taste. When was the last time you physically picked up a book? It’s never too late to start.

Watch TV

That Netflix watch list, get to it.

Family Time

Don’t miss out on the people that mean the most to you. Take a minute and remind them that you’re always thinking about them.

Bubbles!

We love bubble baths! If you do too, grab your bath bomb and make a splash (don’t actually or you’ll flood the bathroom). Set some candles and enjoy some essential oils.

Beauty Sleep Anyone?

We all know America is sleep deprived, so take a break and go for that power nap you’ve been thinking about all day.

Do Nothing

Hey, it’s your day if you want to do nothing no one is judging you.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Value the relationship you have with yourself.

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” - Anne Lamott
