A few small habits keep our fabrics soft, holding their drape and colour for years. Start here, then find your fabric below.
Three habits cover almost everything
Wash cool, wash gentle
Cold water on a delicate cycle protects both fibre and colour. Turn prints inside out, use a mild detergent, and skip fabric softener. It coats the weave and dulls the finish over time.
Dry flat, away from heat
Reshape while damp, then lay flat or hang to dry. Direct heat and tumble drying are the quickest way to lose a garment's shape, so we leave them out.
Steam, do not iron
A handheld steamer lifts creases without pressing the fabric flat. If you must iron, use low heat with a pressing cloth between the iron and the cloth.

Modal
Hijabs, dressesSoft and breathable, with a natural drape. Cold machine wash on gentle in a mesh bag, or hand wash. Lay flat or hang to dry. Modal relaxes beautifully under cool steam, so a quick pass brings it back to life.
Jersey and cotton
EverydayCold gentle wash, with like colours the first few times as natural dyes can release. Reshape and lay flat to dry so the knit keeps its form rather than stretching on a hanger.
Crepe
Abayas, dressesA textured weave that holds its shape. Cold hand wash or a gentle cycle in a bag, and dry clean anything more structured. Never wring. Hang to dry out of direct sun, and steam on the reverse.
Chiffon and georgette
Overlays, scarvesThe most delicate in the wardrobe. Hand wash cold with a gentle detergent, or dry clean. Do not twist. Press the water out softly, hang to dry, and steam at a distance rather than pressing.
Satin and silk-feel
OccasionHand wash cold or dry clean, and keep away from direct heat. If you iron, work inside out on the lowest setting with a pressing cloth to protect the sheen.
Linen and blends
Warm weatherLinen loves water and softens with every wear. Cold gentle wash, and expect a little natural creasing as part of its character. Steam or press while slightly damp for a smoother finish.
Swimwear
SwimRinse in cool water the moment you are out of the pool or sea to lift chlorine, salt, and sunscreen. Hand wash gently with mild soap, press the water out in a towel, and dry flat in the shade. Sun and dryers are what wear swimwear down fastest.

Your questions
Can I machine wash my abaya?
Most of our jersey and modal abayas take a cold gentle cycle in a mesh bag. More structured crepe pieces prefer a hand wash or a dry clean to keep their shape. The label sewn inside is always the final word.
How do I get wrinkles out of chiffon?
Steam is the gentlest way. Hold a handheld steamer a few inches from the fabric and let the heat relax it. If you iron, use the lowest setting with a pressing cloth between the iron and the cloth.
My hijab keeps building static. What helps?
A light mist of water, a touch of anti-static spray, or smoothing the fabric with slightly damp hands. Natural fibres and a little humidity keep static at bay.
How should I care for swimwear?
Rinse it in cool water as soon as you are out of the water, hand wash with a mild soap, and dry it flat in the shade. Chlorine, salt, and direct sun are what age swimwear the fastest.
What about deodorant and perfume marks?
Let both dry fully before you dress, and apply fragrance before your pieces go on. For a fresh mark, dab gently with a damp cloth rather than rubbing it in.
How do I keep pieces from pilling?
Wash inside out on gentle, and give knits a rest between wears so the fibres recover. When small bobbles appear, a fabric comb or shaver removes them cleanly in a few passes.
