What is modal fabric?

Modal is a soft, semi-synthetic fiber made from beech tree pulp. It belongs to the rayon family, but it's processed to be stronger and more durable than standard viscose. The result is a fabric that feels silky against the skin while still holding up to everyday wear.

Why modal works so well for hijab

• It's breathable. Modal lets air move through it, so it stays comfortable through long days, commutes, and warmer weather.
• It drapes beautifully. The fabric falls softly around the face without stiffness or bulk, which makes it easy to style.
• It grips without slipping. Unlike satin or very fine chiffon, modal has just enough texture to stay where you place it, often with fewer pins.
• It's featherlight. Modal is softly sheer, so we recommend wearing it over an undercap for full coverage.
