"حرة" meaning "free" is used to honor Syria’s emergence from decades of repression under the Assad regime; a period marked by silenced voices, displacement, and resistance, and symbolizes the reclaiming of dignity, freedom, and self-determination by the Syrian people. This serves as a symbol for an ummah who believe in freedom, justice, and the right of all people to be free from their oppressors.

Meet the Artist

Luna is a Syrian artist who obtained a degree in chemistry from Damascus University before turning to pursue a career in graphic design. Prior to her work as a freelancer, Luna spent several years as a designer at one of Syria's premier graphic design agencies. Luna's work as a freelancer currently focuses on voice acting, pattern and social media design.
